This is the Grand Mosque in downtown Manama, Bahrain. This view, from the water, reminds me of the blue mosque in Istanbul. This is the one mosque that I know of in Bahrain, that will allow tours of the interior.
This mosque accommodates several thousand men at Friday mid-day prayer (with sermon). There is a separate section for women , in the balcony.

This was such a beautiful place to visit. I remember we had to be covered to enter. The glass "balls" (lights) were striking.
