Today is the first day of the Celebration of the Chinese New year. From my Chinese friend here in Bahrain, I learned that there is to be no cleaning on the first day of celebration! Yippee. Cleaning would sweep away all the good luck that is coming in the New Year. There is a lot of Red in the decorations and cards for the New Year. Red is a joyful color, and when you wake up on the first morning of the New Year, one should look at the bright red and be happy.
